- What type of vent must I use?
6" Class A all fuel chimney. - Can I common vent with other appliances?
No, these units must each have their own vent. UL does not allow common venting with any appliance. - How do I adjust my draft? You adjust your draft by adjusting the weight on your barometric damper in accordance with your factory supplied manometer.
- What if I can't get enough draft? Consult your dealer. You may have a vent blockage, a negative pressure on the dwelling, or a substandard chimney system.
- Can I sidewall vent these units? No, sidewall vents have not been tested or endorsed by UL or LDJ.
- Can I power vent these units? No, power vents have not been tested or endorsed by UL or LDJ.
- How much draft should I have? .04-.06 inches of water column is recommended for the best results.
- How critical is proper venting?
Without proper venting you may experience a variety of problems such as smoking back (which can cause augers to jam), inability to maintain a fire, condensation on your vent pipe, or plugged flue tubes.
